Valentine Fun

We decided for this Valentine's Day weekend that we would rent a hotel room at the Holiday Inn in Elk River. They have a mini water park there that Carson really enjoys. So that's what we did on Friday night. We got the boys in their swim trunks.

Then we headed to the pool area. We thought Ashton would really like it because he loves to take baths and splash in the water. Apparently we were wrong. He started crying and didn't want to be in it. So, Paul sat with Ashton, while Carson and I went swimming.

Carson got cold pretty fast, so after about 45 minutes, he wanted to be done. So, we went to eat and then he wanted to play video games. We took the boys to the arcade after supper and then it was bed time.

In the morning Carson wanted to go swimming one more time. So, after breakfast we headed back to the pool. This time I hung out with Ashton while Paul went swimming with Carson. After about an hour, it was time to pack-up and head home!

Just Mommy and Her Boys

This weekend it is just me and my two boys. Paul is in Illinois until Monday night at a Jimmy John's conference. He took two of his managers, so he didn't have to drive all the way by himself. So, to make these last two days go by fast, I had to have a lot planned. On Saturday night, we went to my friend Molly's, so Carson and her son, Andrew, could play together. It was a good time and no fights broke out between the boys.

Today, we made muffins for breakfast, went to Barnes & Noble to play with the Thomas the Train set and pick out some new books, and then made cupcakes to take to day care tomorrow for snacks. The weekend went by fast and the boys were actually pretty good. They decided not to take naps today and Ashton had a screaming fit...because of course he was tired and hungry!

So, back to work and day care tomorrow. One more night, just the three of us. We are excited for Paul to come home tomorrow! Hurry home...we love and miss you!

11 Months and Counting....

Today Ashton is 11 months! I can hardly believe it! Next month he is going to turn one. He won't be a baby anymore. I can't believe how fast this past year has gone. Ashton is now pulling himself up all of the time and trying to get into everything. Paul and I like to call him our little "garbage truck." He eats anything and everything. He pretty much eats all of the same food that we do. He just won't stop eating. We also introduced whole milk this weekend with his formula. Just a couple of ounces to get him used to the taste. I can't believe that within the next month, I will have only one kid in diapers, won't have to buy anymore formula or baby food. Wow, our Target bill is going to be so much cheaper!
