First Haircut

Today we took Ashton to get his first haircut! He did pretty good and only cried a couple of times. We were in and out in 20 minutes!

Christmas in March

Last weekend we finally got the opportunity to celebrate Christmas with Neil, Eileen and our nephew, Anthony. It has been hard to coordinate schedules. Paul's parents were also here. We haven't seen them since we were in Minot for Christmas. I think Carson had a good time opening presents, again!

12 month update

Ashton had his 12 month check-up on Wednesday. Everything is looking good. He weighs 19 pounds, 2 ounces. He is 30 inches long and his head his 18 cm. So, he only gained another 1 1/2 pounds in the last 3 months. Apparently, my kids just don't gain weight very fast, as he his now only in the 5% for weight! He did grow another 1 1/2 inches and is in the 50% for height (he's definitely not taking after me)! He has started taking his first steps and will be walking shortly. I can't wait for that! I'm not a fan of the crawling stage. He is officially off of formula and all baby food, too. He's such a big boy now!

Not 30 Anymore

Well, I am officially 31 and I'm not sure how I feel about that. One of my friends said to me "we are actually in our thirties now." I hadn't really thought about it like that before. Hopefully 31 will be a great year. I celebrated my actual birthday (26th) by getting a massage and getting my hair cut. It was really relaxing. I spent the rest of the day with my favorite boys. Carson helped me open some of my presents and we ordered Chinese for dinner.

On Saturday my brother baby-sat the boys while Paul and I went out with friends for dinner. One of our good friends from Illinois was here on an over night trip (he's a pilot), so he was able to come too. We went to a place called Benihana's. They cook your dinner at your table and do fun tricks while they cook.

Our friend Mike decided to be daring and eat eel. Doesn't look very good to me!

They even sang Happy Birthday to me.

It was a great night to spend with friends!

Unemployed

Well, as of the 12th I will be unemployed! I found out last week that I am being laid off. I got a two week notice and no severance or anything. So, I have been busy the last two weeks applying for jobs. I have a feeling that it will take me awhile to get a new one. Not a great time to be looking. The company I work for was sold last December and they made it sound like nothing would change, but change is here. I'm not the only one losing my job, but that doesn't make it any easier. Apparently, the company that we were sold to, doesn't like remote offices and is also closing the MN office on April 15th. So, the people that are left will be working from home. So, if anyone out there knows of any job openings in the marketing field, please let me know. Until then, I will now be part of the unemployment statistics.
