Our First Trip to the ER!

Well, Saturday night was our first trip to the ER! At about 7:30 Carson was jumping around and landed on his arm weird and he started crying uncontrolably and holding his arm saying it hurt. I tried to give it a kiss, because that always works when he gets hurt, but not this time. He wouldn't move his right arm and just kept crying and wouldn't let me try and touch it. I finally got him calmed down and told him that if he didn't show me that he could move it, we were going to have to go to the doctor. I thought that would work because he'll do anything not to go to the doctor. But, he just kept crying and saying his arm hurt. He even wanted some Tylenol...because apparently Tylenol cures all, but that didn't work either. So, I had to call Paul at work and have him come home, so we could make our first trip to the ER. We got in quick and he just sat in Paul's lap still holding his arm and not moving it. So, they wanted to take X-rays to see if it was broken. While we were waiting, Paul moved Carson's arm one more time and he started crying again and then about a minute later, he jumped down and started moving it and playing with everything in the room and wouldn't sit anymore. So, of course now we looked like idiots! They still wanted to take X-rays, just to be sure. Then the doctor came in, as Carson is jumping around and using his arm. He said it wasn't broken and he thought maybe he had pinched a tendon in his elbow and when Paul moved his arm the last time, it became un-pinched and didn't hurt anymore. So, an hour and a half later, we were on our way home with a "fixed arm." I'm not one to over react and take my kids to the doctor for every little thing, but I had never seen Carson act like this before. I'm sure this won't be our last trip to the ER with two boys!

Sounds like a typical guy thing to do...! Thanks for starting up your blog -- it's now on my list of daily internet items to check. I love the pix of Ashton - he is adorable! I wish I could hold him right now.

Lots - n - lots of love ,
